Happy Birthday to the Most Special Man in My Life...

Happy Birthday Papa! Yesterday we celebrated the 69th birthday of my Dad (Whew! One more year and he has lived seven decades already) but this time we did not eat out instead we celebrated at home. Sunday morning, we had a 9 AM breakfast but not like our ordinary and quick breakfast (cereal or oatmeal), this time we had rice, bacon, hotdogs and eggs (the greasy breakfast).

After breakfast, we attended the 11:30 AM mass at Sacred Heart Church and gave thanks for a beautiful year God has blessed my Dad and prayed that this year will be even more beautiful.

Then we head back home and ate lunch. For the main dish my Mom cooked spaghetti, which signifies long life we hope for the celebrant. And for dessert, I baked cassava cake paired with ice cream (yum!).

For dinner, we had grilled steak and rice with asparagus, sliced cucumbers and cherry tomatoes (courtesy of my brother-in-law). The steak was good, very tasty and tender. My Dad and my brother-in-law drank wine with their dinner (the two of them finished a bottle of red wine).

nice presentation, it's like from a first class restaurant ;)

We had such a great time in celebrating my Dad's birthday all day long and we didn't even have to wait an hour or two to be seated...yay! We managed to pull it off in the comfort of our house. Oh how I wish next year me and my brothers and sisters could reunite and arranged a simple church wedding for my Mom and Dad's 40th Anniversary (it's their Ruby Anniversary — red will be our motif). It will be a nice gift too for my Dad's 70th birthday if our whole family is together in the Philippines...hmm, exciting!
